How did we get here?
Richard Valle starts the Annual Science, Earth, & Health Day at James Logan High School in Union City. For 10 years, the festival brought the community together for a day to explore educational exhibits, informational booths, and more.
Science in the Park continues to encourage people of all ages, interests, and backgrounds to explore science, earth, and health through interactive activities. Richard decides to make Science in the Park a bi-ennial event.
Richard partners with H.A.R.D. and decides to bring the festival back on a much larger scale. Aiming at reaching a broader audience, the event moved to the Alden E. Oliver Sports Park in Hayward.
Science in the Park broadens its scope to involve all 4 school districts in District 2 - Hayward, New Haven, Newark, and Fremont Unified School Districts.
